“Regular school is harder for me. Here I have no distractions and I get it. Some stuff made no sense to me in the past, but now it does.”

Plan for Success

A Day at CLP

Every day is productive, a step closer to success.

The hours of operation at College Living Prep are designed to meet student/family needs and to fulfill the Ombudsman requirements for graduation. Students attend one of two sessions daily to better accommodate student schedules:

Morning: 7:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Afternoon: 12:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Extended-day programs
7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m

Customized schedules to meet student and family needs are also available.

Individualized learning paths for students will encompass a Basic Skills Program (math, science, social studies/citizenship, life management, health and recreation, aesthetics, and college/career preparation.), a Reading Skills Program (reading strategies, comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, writing strategies) and a Personal and Career Development Program. Additional programs will include such functional life skills as study skills, job readiness and social skills.

Each day, three hours are devoted to academic study. The fourth hour is spent in small group workshops as part of each student's Personal and Career Development Program. A personalized program schedule will be developed for students enrolling in the extended-day program to meet their individual needs.

CLP follows a traditional academic year, running from August through May. Two 6-week summer sessions are available to students who might benefit from an extended-year program.
